CINI's success!!
hey, namaskar,
Pranav Bihari and I played some music at the House of Lords at Westminster Palace, at a CINI, Fundraising Dinner for India's children. We played over an hour to a reception full with over 100 guests, British Lords and Ladies and business people mostly, talking, laughing, sipping champagne, listening to the music in a relaxed atmosphere. After singing some Prabhat Samgiit songs I then started on a sequence of Rarhi Kirtans, followed by a very groovy tabla break by Pranav. At the end of our performance, some of the guests came up to us to talk, it was nice.. The next day, Anne called me, the main organiser, she was overjoyed thanked us "for our contribution". She said that last year they raised 30,000 pounds, and this year, it was Half a Million, I was happy for them and a bit dumbstruck, but congratulated her on their success.
Perhaps theres a secret formula there for success somewhere and it has to do with Kirtan..
lots of love
